It has been used as a noun for doubt or question, but rather improperly. The word is obsolescent and inelegant.
First occurrence in the Bible(KJV): Genesis 18:24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?
