Luke Doss

Edmund Burke, famed Irish statesman and staunch supporter of the American Revolution, once stated, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” These words are tinged with truth, but in actuality they fall short of complete infallibility. You see, the Word of God says that “there is none that doeth good, no not one.” A better expression of Mr. Burke’s sentiment would be “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for godly men to do nothing.” In the words of the writer of Psalms 12:1, “Help Lord, for the godly man ceaseth.” For this cause I plead with anyone who may find themselves reading this - Take a STAND against the blurred lines of good and evil that define today’s culture! Morality never has and never will be determined by society! Right is to wrong as up is to down, and no matter how this mass of humanity chafes against it, the war waged between these two opposing forces will never be explained away or relegated to a lowly position as an outmoded concept that was left at the door of the 21st century. The Almighty God of the Universe, in His great power, has instilled in every heart an understanding of good and evil - an understanding that many spend a lifetime trying to escape! As I observe the pulse of America, I see so many trying to slander the liberating power of God-given morality as if it were a chain that inhibits one from freely expressing oneself. Not so my dear friend! God has given us the gift of morality, coupled with the precious gift of salvation, as means to our only fulfillment. Sadly, there are many today who would rather seek fulfillment outside of the structure that our Creator has set up. They consciously decide to rebel against the God of the Bible, and it’s their personal right to do so. They will suffer the consequences of their actions. My cry is to those who aren’t even aware that there IS a decision to be made! Wake up you sleeping souls! Step out of the rushing current of life before you are carried over the falls of death! Consider yourself! You WILL answer to God for your actions…I beg you to do it now!
You aren’t promised tomorrow! Take care of your soul today!
Fellow Christians, the time is late. It is our responsibility to stand up against the efforts of society that are gouging at the foundations of righteousness in this country. Please stir what may be the coals of your walk with God into a flame. We must stand firm upon the convictions of a lifestyle pleasing to God. We must renew our minds every day with a fresh determination to actively honor our Lord in all we do.
