1. Firmness of standing; fixedness in place.

2. Firmness of mind or purpose; fixedness in principle; constancy; resolution; as the STEDFASTNESS of faith. He adhered to his opinions with steadfastness.

First occurrence in the Bible(KJV): Colossians 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
