ACCEPTA'TION, noun
1. Kind reception; a receiving with favor or approbation.
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 1 Timothy 1:15.
2. A state of being acceptable; favorable regard.
Some things are of great dignity and acceptation with God
But in this sense acceptableness is more generally used.
3. the meaning or sense in which a word or expression is understood, or generally received; as a term is to be used according to its usualacceptation
